NIRSC (in partnership with Mercury Security) Charity Golf Day – Edenmore Golf Club, Magheralin

Having registered and received superb goodie bags, 30 golfers representing 12 shopping centres and organizations took to the course at Edenmore on a gloriously sunny day. Good numbers despite a few last minute cry-offs.

Date: Friday 25th June 2010

Having registered and received superb goodie bags, 30 golfers representing 12 shopping centres and organizations took to the course at Edenmore on a gloriously sunny day. Good numbers despite a few last minute cry-offs.

While the golfers golfed the non-golfing types passed their time playing Wii golf or being humiliated by a devilishly tricky putting competition (9 holes laid out on the side of a steep hill with a close cut, super fast surface – thanks Deaglan!).

The return of the golfers heralded more Wii playing and a few thirst quenching beverages amid the usual stories of near misses and strokes of pure genius (more of the former than the latter!).

The excellent three course dinner went down a treat with coffee being accompanied by the awarding of prizes followed by more stories of near misses and strokes of pure genius (strangely more of the latter than the former by now!) and finally a raffle with prizes from wine to limited edition Tiger Woods prints, Vat 19 to Lady Gaga tickets. Thanks to all those who contributed raffle prizes.

More stories, now exclusively relating strokes of pure genius (!) before festivities began to wind down from about 9.30 by which time all those who had attended had enjoyed an excellent day of sport, socializing and networking and above all had succeeded in raising £1,400 for RNLI Northern Ireland.

Our thanks to event partners Mercury Security, Principal Sponsor, Mitie, hole sponsors Walker Communications, NewBlueMedia, CBS Outdoor and Coey Advertising; and to trophy sponsors Lisburn Crystal.

Special thanks to our hosts at Edenmore, particularly event organizer Deaglan O’Hagan who did a great job of delivering a super event, pain free.
