NIRSC AGM
Friday 12th June 2009, Cutters Wharf, Belfast

Around 40 members (Centre Managers and Affiliates) attended this year’s AGM.

The ‘business’ element of the afternoon was dealt with in quick time. Members can download minutes of the meeting from the members section of this site, but in summary our new Chair is Karen Marshall of Flagship Centre, Bangor (currently covering at Bow Street Mall, Lisburn). The new Vice Chair is Jamie Bill from Bloomfield Shopping Centre & Retail Park in Bangor and the new Honorary secretary is Chris Newton from Park Centre, Belfast.

Following this Steve McLean and then Lynda Bryans talked to us on the subject of “Stress – how to spot it, deal with it and avoid it”. Steve’s is MD of a Health & Safety Consultancy and his take on the subject reflected this highlighting the need for managers to risk assess for stress. Linda is a Director of AWARE an Irish mental health charity and among other things, spoke movingly and with great candor of her own battles with depression.

22 members then stayed on for an excellent meal and evening of good craic which brought this year’s NIRSC activities to an end.
